Our Story

Hi, my name is Jane, and I am the owner of Soapy Jane!

I started making my own soap in order to cut down on the plastic waste in our home after seeing a video about a whale who was tangled up in fishing nets and lots of plastic. Fortunately, four divers cut her free, but it really touched me and inspired me to do my bit to reduce my plastic consumption. I also have a stressful job in the NHS and have found that being creative helps my mental health so much. I’ve really enjoyed experimenting with colour and design to create my signature Soapy Jane style!

I realised that my passion for soap making was more than just a hobby, so I have thrown myself into learning everything I can about it and have loved every moment of completing my certification. I have a background in aromatherapy and beauty therapy which really helps with making soap for different skin types.

I use aromatherapy oils to perfume my soap along with facial clays which have hydrating and cleansing properties. This helps my soaps not only feel luxurious but smell beautiful too! Plus, my multi-coloured and unique personalised soaps contain mica powders that are sourced from an ethical company in the UK.
